Know what your wealth is for.
Most financial planning answers how much do I need. We answer what is the money actually for. Watch the short film, then bring your one question to a 45-minute first meeting.
Sound familiar? You did everything right. Retirement still feels undecided.
The accounts are there. The number is close. The hardest part is still ahead: deciding what it is all for, and when.
“I have a number. I don't have a plan for the years.”
Balances, projections, a target you were told to hit. Nothing about the years themselves.
“I'm afraid to spend it.”
Spend too much and run short. Spend too little and miss the years you saved for. So nothing gets decided.
“Every drop feels like a new decision.”
Without rules written in advance, each bad week asks you to decide again, under pressure.
The story is yours. I'm the guide in it.
I'm Niels Buksik, a CFP® professional and the founder of ANCHORY®, a fiduciary financial planning firm in The Colony, Texas (Dallas–Fort Worth), since 2018.
I was a financial advisor straight out of college, and I learned how the industry plans: a number first, the life somewhere in the appendix. I built ANCHORY to start with the question that comes first. You decide where you're going. I keep the plan in writing and do the work myself.

Retirement planning that starts with the years, then the money.
Three steps. The human work comes first; the technical work exists to serve it.
Name what it's for.
In your words: the people, the years, the plans you haven't said out loud yet. Before any spreadsheet.
Decide the hard calls on a calm day.
When to step back, how income will flow, what happens when markets drop. Written down in advance, so a bad week never decides for you.
Fund it, and keep it true.
The portfolio positioned to pay for the life the plan describes, then reviewed on a steady rhythm as life moves.
- Retirement income
- Social Security timing
- 401(k) and IRA decisions
- Taxes, with your CPA
- Insurance, reviewed
- The estate, with your attorney
ANCHORY does not prepare tax returns, draft legal documents or sell insurance. Recommendations are coordinated with your CPA and attorney.
Without a plan, the default decides.
- “Someday” stays someday.
- Every market drop becomes a new decision.
- The best years pass on autopilot.
With one, you know what your wealth is for.
- Each part of the money has a job and a date.
- The hard calls are decided in advance, while things are calm.
- You spend on the years that matter, on purpose.
The market drops. You don't flinch.
Because the rules for that morning were written on a calm one. Nothing has to be decided today.
The first meetingForty-five minutes, minute by minute.
One question, yours. A short pre-read arrives the night before. Nothing is sold in it, nothing has to be decided in it, and there is no asset minimum to sit in it. By video, phone or at the office in The Colony.
What brought you.
The one question you came with, in your words.
What the years are for.
The conversation most plans skip. No spreadsheet yet.
What we would do.
How Life Architecture would apply to you, plainly.
The honest answer.
Which engagement fits, or that neither does yet. Said in the room.
One of these is already you.
Same work, two rhythms. They are not a ladder. The first meeting decides which, if either.
Quarterly, for the building years.
We set the architecture early, then meet each quarter to keep it true as your income and your life grow.
See FoundationMonthly, for established wealth.
A closer cadence across structure, protection, and the people who depend on it. A limited number of new relationships each year.
